My name is Davis Halstead, and I am a senior at the University of Mount Olive pursuing a degree in Business Management with a minor in Coaching, I have developed a strong passion for athlete development, leadership, and building a competitive team culture.
As a collegiate baseball student-athlete, I have learned the importance of discipline, accountability, resilience, and relentless effort. Competing at a high level has taught me how valuable preparation, communication, and teamwork are to the success of a program. These experiences have shaped the type of coach I aspire to become—one who pushes athletes to reach their full potential while also helping them grow as individuals off the field.
My coaching philosophy is built around discipline, resilience, and consistency. I believe athletes respond best to coaches who lead by example, communicate clearly, and create an environment where hard work is expected every day. I want to help athletes develop confidence, mental toughness, and a strong work ethic that will benefit them long after their playing careers are over.
In addition to my athletic experience, my background working in farming, landscaping, and excavation has strengthened my work ethic and ability to work effectively in demanding environments. These experiences have taught me the value of responsibility, persistence, and teamwork—qualities I would bring to any coaching staff.
I am eager to continue learning and growing as a coach while contributing positively to a program’s culture and success. Thank you for taking the time to review my portfolio and consider my application. I appreciate the opportunity to share my passion for coaching and leadership.
